Who we are

THE SAJ TUTOR CONNECT operates an online marketplace connecting customers with independent teachers and tutors. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the platform.

Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email, password hash, phone, country, role
  • Lesson request data: subject, level, delivery preference, availability, town/city and postcode area, plus your contact details and address stored separately and privately
  • Tutor data: profile, subjects, levels, qualifications, verification documents and status
  • Payment data: unlock payment records and Stripe references. We never store card details
  • Usage data: log and security data needed to operate the service

When contact details are shared

Your name, email, telephone number and exact address are not shown publicly and are not visible to tutors browsing opportunities. They are released to a tutor only after that tutor completes the one-off unlock payment for your request. Tutors must use them only to discuss your enquiry.

Lawful bases

  • Contract — to operate your account, requests and unlocks
  • Legitimate interests — safety, fraud prevention, service improvement
  • Legal obligation — accounting, safeguarding referrals
  • Consent — optional marketing messages

Sharing

We share data with our infrastructure and database provider, Stripe for payment processing, and email delivery providers. We do not sell personal data.

Retention

Lesson requests are retained while active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Payment records are kept for statutory accounting periods. You may request deletion of your account at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to processing and to withdraw consent. Contact support@thesajtutorconnect.cloud or use our contact form. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

Accounts are for adults aged 18 or over. Requests for under-18 learners must be created by a parent or guardian. See our safeguarding policy.
