Trust & safety

Safeguarding and trust

Learner safety comes before growth. These are the standards every tutor and customer agrees to.

Tutor verification

  • Email verification for every account
  • Identity document review before a profile is approved
  • Qualification and experience evidence recorded on the profile
  • Enhanced DBS certificate expected for UK face-to-face tutoring of under-18s
  • International tutors verified with government-issued ID and, where available, local police or criminal record checks

Verification status is shown on tutor profiles. Verification is not a guarantee; customers should always carry out their own checks and interview a tutor before lessons begin.

Under-18 learners

  • A parent or guardian must create the request and be the point of contact
  • For face-to-face lessons we recommend a responsible adult remains in the property
  • For online lessons we recommend lessons take place in a shared family space
  • Recording a lesson requires the informed consent of the parent or guardian

Safer online lessons

  • Use a mainstream video platform such as Zoom, Teams or Google Meet
  • Keep communication on business channels and avoid private social media contact with minors
  • Cameras on, appropriate dress and a neutral background

Data protection

Customer names, email addresses, telephone numbers and exact addresses are never displayed publicly. They are released only to a tutor who has unlocked that specific request, and unlocked details must be used solely to discuss that tutoring enquiry. See our privacy policy.

Prohibited conduct

  • Sharing or reselling unlocked customer contact details
  • Contacting a customer about anything other than the tutoring enquiry
  • Misrepresenting qualifications, identity or DBS status
  • Any behaviour that puts a learner at risk

Breaches lead to immediate suspension and, where appropriate, referral to the authorities.

Reporting a concern

Report any concern to support@thesajtutorconnect.cloud or through our contact form. If a child is at immediate risk, contact the police on 999 (UK) or your local emergency service first.

Our role

THE SAJ TUTOR CONNECT is a marketplace that introduces customers to independent tutors. We do not employ, supervise or supply tutors and we are not a tutoring agency.
